Background
Dr. Klapper completed his undergraduate studies at Indiana University earning a Phi Beta Kappa while in Bloomington, Indiana. He graduated from the Indiana University School of Medicine with Honors and as a member of the AOA Honor Society. Dr. Klapper completed his residency in Ophthalmology at the Baylor of College of Medicine in Houston, Texas where he was selected to be Chief Resident. Dr. Klapper then did specialized fellowship training in oculofacial plastic and reconstructive surgery at the University of Ottawa Eye Institute in Ontario, Canada.
Dr. Klapper has published numerous articles in peer-reviewed journals and is the author of several book chapters in the field of ophthalmic plastic surgery. Dr. Klapper is a scientific reviewer for the Journal of the American Society of Ophthalmic Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery (USA), Journal of Ophthalmology (USA), EYE (United Kingdom), Graefe’s Archive of Clinical Experimental Ophthalmology (Germany), and Cosmetics (USA).
Dr. Klapper is a Past President of both the Indiana Academy of Ophthalmology and the esteemed American Eye Study Club. He is a former Councilor with the American Academy of Ophthalmology.
